Pylon & Monument Signs for Pasco Roadsides

On US 301, SR 54 and SR 52, drivers get a few seconds to decide whether to turn in. A clear road sign makes that decision easy. We build roadside cabinets, make tenant panels for shared plaza signs, and bring damaged pylons back into service, with our own bucket trucks and sign crane for the high work.

Pylon or monument: what is the difference?

A pylon stands on one or more poles and lifts your name above parked cars and traffic. A monument sits low on a solid base, usually right at the driveway of a plaza or office park. Most of both are cabinets: a frame holding faces that can be lit from inside.

What we do with them

  • Tenant panels for shared plaza signs. D'Onofrio's Pizza got a panel in the same navy, white and red as its building letters, so the brand reads the same from the road and the door.
  • Lettering on an existing panel. For Mathnasium of Wesley Chapel on SR 54 we installed pre-spaced lettering on the center’s pylon panel on the same trip as the storefront letters.
  • Restoring a damaged cabinet. The Clark Town Center pylon came back with its header, directional arrow and a full set of tenant panels.
  • Single-business cabinets. Eden carried its tower logo out to a black roadside cabinet and street-level signs.
  • Relighting. Older cabinets can be converted to LED. See LED sign lighting.
  • Adding a digital display. As an authorized Watchfire and Cirrus LED dealer, we can build a programmable display into a new or existing pylon or monument. See LED message centers.

Pylon & monument signs: common questions

Can I just replace my panel on the plaza sign?

Usually, yes. If your center has a shared pylon or monument, we make a new face for your slot in the existing cabinet. The property manager typically has to approve it, and we match it to your storefront so the two read as one brand.

Our pylon is damaged. Do we need a whole new sign?

Not always. At Clark Town Center we restored the existing pylon cabinet with its header and a full new set of tenant panels instead of replacing the structure. We will look at the condition and tell you what makes sense. For a smaller fix on a sign that otherwise works, see sign repair and service.

Do you install tall signs yourselves?

Yes. We run our own bucket trucks and our Elliott crane, and our own crew does the install.

Do pylon and monument signs need permits?

New structures and lit signs generally do. The rules differ between the City of Zephyrhills, Dade City and unincorporated Pasco County, and with the scope of the work, so we confirm what applies to your property when we quote.

Can an old pylon be made brighter?

Yes. An LED conversion keeps the structure and panels and replaces the lighting inside. We did this for the Kings Lake Center pylon in Brandon. See LED sign lighting.

Our pylon was damaged in a storm. Can you help right away?

If it is leaning, loose or dropping pieces, yes: emergency help when a sign is falling or unsafe is available 24/7 at 813-689-8671. For storm repairs we also supply photos, a detailed estimate and documentation for your insurance claim.

How long has Quality Signs been doing this?

Our company has been designing, building and installing signs since 1986, more than 35 years. The Zephyrhills shop is part of the same family-owned company as Quality Signs Tampa and Quality Signs Florida, with the same crew, license and equipment.

Which areas do you cover?

We serve Zephyrhills, Dade City, San Antonio, Wesley Chapel and East Pasco. Call 813-689-8671 and tell us where the sign is going.
