Channel Letters for Zephyrhills & Wesley Chapel Storefronts

Individually built, lit letters that put your name on the building in your own colors. We draw them on a photo of your storefront, fabricate them in our own shop, light every letter before it leaves, and install them with our own trucks.

What a channel letter actually is

Each letter is its own small, sealed box: metal sides (called returns), a back, and a face. On the Adesso Pizza storefront in Zephyrhills and the Mathnasium of Wesley Chapel center on SR 54, that meant 3/16-inch acrylic faces held by 1-inch trim caps over fabricated aluminum returns and backs, with 12-volt LEDs inside. Because every letter is a separate piece, the sign follows the shape of your logo instead of being squeezed into a rectangle.

Picking a mounting style

  • On a raceway. The letters sit on a slim box that carries the wiring. At Mathnasium of Plant City we painted the raceway to match the wall so it disappears into the facade.
  • Direct to the wall. Each letter is fastened on its own and the wiring goes behind the wall.
  • On a backer panel. A solid panel gives the letters a steady background. It worked well over the glass front at Nikki's Boutique in Wesley Chapel.

Your landlord's sign criteria often decide which of these is allowed, so we ask about them on the first call.

How the letters can light up

Three lighting styles we have built for local businesses.

Pure Green storefront sign above glass storefront

Face-lit

Light comes through the colored face. It is the easiest to read from the road after dark.

Red halo glow behind Rock N Roll Sushi letters

Halo-lit

Solid faces, with light thrown back onto the wall so each letter gets a glowing outline.

Color-changing halo

RGB LEDs behind the sign, with colors picked from a phone app. Built for Omega Pharmacy in Zephyrhills.

Channel letters: common questions

What do channel letters cost?

It depends on how tall the letters are, how many there are, how they light and how they mount. We price from your actual storefront and the approved design, so send a photo of the building and your logo and we will come back with a written quote.

Do I need a permit for channel letters in Zephyrhills?

Lit wall signs usually need a sign permit and electrical work. Whether that goes through the City of Zephyrhills or Pasco County depends on where the property sits. For the Adesso Pizza letters on County Road 54 the permit went in with engineer-sealed structural drawings, and we will tell you what your location needs when we quote.

My landlord has sign rules. Can you work with them?

Yes. Most centers want to approve a drawing first. Mathnasium of Plant City's shopping center reviewed and approved the facade drawing before we built anything, and on several jobs the landlord or property manager signed a notarized letter of authorization for the permit.

How long does it take?

Approvals and permits usually set the pace more than the build. For Mathnasium of Wesley Chapel on SR 54, about three and a half weeks passed between the quote and the final invoice.

Who takes care of the letters after they are up?

We do. If letters go dark or get damaged later, our sign repair and service crew handles it. Signs that are falling or have become a safety hazard get emergency response around the clock, 24/7. Call 813-689-8671.

My suite has no power for a sign yet. Is that a problem?

No, it happens a lot in new and remodeled suites. We mount the sign anyway, leave the wiring ready to hook up, and hand your electrician a short written list of what to bring. We are also a licensed Florida electrical contractor (ES12002067).

How long has Quality Signs been doing this?

Our company has been designing, building and installing signs since 1986, more than 35 years. The Zephyrhills shop is part of the same family-owned company as Quality Signs Tampa and Quality Signs Florida, with the same crew, license and equipment.

Which areas do you cover?

We serve Zephyrhills, Dade City, San Antonio, Wesley Chapel and East Pasco. Call 813-689-8671 and tell us where the sign is going.
